Norman Foote, born Norman Mervyn Barrington-Foote claims his name forced him to develop a sense of humour at an early age. At age 11, Norman's parents gave him his first guitar, a finely crafted instrument from the Sears Catalogue.

This set the stage for a lifelong dream. With idols including The Beatles, Hank Williams and Elvis, it wasn't long before Norman switched to electric guitar and performed with garage bands during his highschool years.

When Norman was 20 , he left his home in Vancouver, Canada to explore Australia and New Zealand, and made his living as a street performer and songster. Norman first developed an interest in puppetry and physical comedy through his association with a travelling theatre troupe in New South Wales, Australia. Still hooked on music but enthralled with the art of puppetry and comedy, Norman chose the only feasible solution - to combine all three.

Norman has created a very special niche with his irreverent comedy and skillful music. He has written and recorded songs for Disney Records, Shari Lewis, CBC syndicated t.v. show "Scoop & Doozie" to name a few.
He has had the undeniable pleasure of performing with symphonies, festivals and in concert halls throughout North America including the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony, London Symphony, Montreal Comedy Festival "Just For Laughs", Galway Festival- Ireland, and literally countless others. Currently Norman is a member of the Roots & Shoots Program & Stopabuse.com.

Drawing from his own experiences, Norman creates songs and stories that delight the ears and eyes. He weaves imaginative word play and gentle wit with great melodies and clever production. Norman has created his own style in the world of entertainment and continues to leave footprints wherever he travels.
