I Musici - Founded by cellist and conductor Yuli Turovsky, I Musici de Montréal plays a vast repertoire from Baroque to the present day. An internationally acclaimed chamber orchestra of fifteen string players, performs over a hundred concerts each year, its technical proficiency and consummate musicianship arouses enthusiastic applause.  One of the highlights of an I Musici concert is Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an exhibition" which he wrote to honour a friend who illustrated Russian folk tales.  Originally scored for full orchestra, Turovsky arranged it for I Musici, and decided to commission his daughter Natasha to set up a multi media presentation.  Her paintings are surrealist, depicting flying Russian witches and dancing chicks emerging from eggshells.  The music is immediately appealing.  What better way to introduce children to classical concerts?
