Aultsville Theatre turning on the lights

Thanks to $60,000 OTF Grant

 Aultsville Theatre is proud to announce that it has received a $60,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to purchase a new lighting system. Jim Brownell, MPP for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry, joined OTF representative Gérald Samson in congratulating Aultsville Theatre Saturday night at the Mayor’s Celebration of the Performing Arts. 

“Aultsville Theatre is an important cultural venue in the area and we want to ensure it will continue to bring us the highest quality arts and entertainment,” said MPP Brownell. “I look forward to seeing stage productions at this theatre for many years to come.”

The OTF grant will be used to help purchase a new, energy-efficient theatre lighting system. “This new equipment will bring the theatre up to date in its lighting capacity and energy efficiency,” said Aultsville Theatre President, Pam Maloney. “We are thankful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for its contribution to this project.”

Aultsville Theatre is a community theatre that is operated as a non-profit organization in partnership with the City of Cornwall and St. Lawrence College. The lighting system is original to the building and in dire need of replacement.  With the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Aultsville Theatre plans to replace the existing system with top notch lighting that will accommodate professional touring artists as well as local theatre groups.
